Alpharetta Christian Academy (ACA) is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. ACA is built on a foundation of God’s truth. “The teachers and staff equip students academically and also spiritually based on biblical principles. ACA is a place where students are taught the academics, as well as Christian principles that are essential for a child to succeed, ” says Debbie Dodd the principal.
When choosing a school for your children you want to find a place that excels in all areas, Alpharetta Christian Academy is just that place. The private school’s objective is to provide academic stepping stones for your child’s educational future; and to supply an atmosphere for a healthy attitude toward learning that will continue throughout the rest of his/her school years.
Debbie Dodd talks about the roots of ACA: “In the 1970’s, the members of FBCA decided the community needed a preschool that incorporated Christian values. Children needed to be taught from an early age that God loves them as much as they needed to know their ABC’s and numbers. This preschool grew to be one of the most sought after preschools in the area. When looking at starting an elementary school, some of the church members recognized that most schools were Christian schools and not ministries. They wanted to develop a school where Christian families as well as non-Christian families could send their children to receive an outstanding education in the academics, as well as socially, physically and spiritually. Their dream included a school where children would receive a strong academic education, but also a place where Jesus’ love was taught and demonstrated everyday.”
I can honestly say, the above quotes from Debbie Dodd are why my family and others I know love Alpharetta Christian Academy. My 9 year old attended Pre-K and our youngest started in the 2’s and finished the Transitional Kindergarten class. My son was loved by the teachers and staff, taught principles of the Bible, academics and how to interact socially and physically! Lisa Matthews, the preschool director, is the most amazing director of children you will ever meet. She is very hands-on and will love on your child as much as he/she needs it if they are having separation or other issues.
ACA provides education for children from 18 months through Pre-Kindergarten. ACA offers both a half-day and full-day program at the kindergarten level. They also offer a Transitional Kindergarten class for those students who attended Pre-K but just aren’t quite ready for Kindergarten. Additionally, there is an after school program for siblings of full-day students who are enrolled in either the preschool program or half-day kindergarten.
