Sundays at the River Concert featuring Bob Bakert
Enjoy a night out with families and friends and listen to the smooth jazz sounds of Bob Bakert and his six piece band. This is the perfect way to wrap-up the weekend with family and friends at an outdoor concert at the Ben Brady Lakeside Pavilion. Opening act John Cable, being a former member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, you’ll hear Americana, country and folk in his songs. All Ages.
Headliner: Bob Bakert will bring a six piece all-star cast of some of Atlanta’s favorite and finest musicians to our stage. This year look for a high energy show including songs from Sting, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Buffalo Springfield, and even some favorites from the American Songbook. Hits you know with a very fresh feel and energy. Marla Feeney (Bonaventure Quartet) on Sax/Violin/Vocals, Dustin Cottrell (Yaught Rock Schooner) – piano/vocals, Mark Letalian (Sweetwater Junction and AQR – Drums, Chris Riggenbach (Emory/Ga State/Oglethorpe) – Bass and, added to the show this year will be former India Arie drummer Emrah Kotan bringing a world of percussion.
Opening Act: John Cable is a member of John McEuen’s String Wizards which is currently performing all across the country. Being a former member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, you can hear Americana, country and folk influences in his songs. He will be playing original songs from his current solo CD, “Broken Knife” and his new transatlantic band project, The Red Planet. Americana and Folk-Rock best describe the genre.
