Most of these signature events will take place in The Plaza, Avalon’s central gathering space located adjacent to Concierge. All events are free (except Cornhole League) and open to the public. More details about each event:
· Little Acorns: Every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, parents and caregivers are invited to bring their pre-school aged tots for free playtime in The Plaza. Weekly surprises will include face painters, storytellers, visits from favorite characters and more. This event through October 30.
· AvalOM: Breathe in. Breathe out. Every Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m., fitness fanatics can enjoy a free wellness class in The Plaza. Classes will be a variety of yoga and barre and will be led by expert instructors from Flywheel Sports, Lululemon, Athleta and more. This event lasts through October 31.
· Avalon Nights Live: Unwind from a long week with live music every Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Plaza. Families and friends are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy music performed by local artists. Guests are welcome to grab to-go food and drinks from Avalon’s famed eateries like Oak Steakhouse and Branch & Barrel, and bring their meals for an evening out on the Plaza. This event lasts through Oct. 26.

Pre-released movies are played at many family-friendly parks and offer opportunities for families to enjoy an evening under the stars! Southern Outdoor Cinema is a large reason why the Northside Hospital Movies in the Park are able to be offered to the community.

Northside Hospital’s Movies in the Park ™ returns to Forsyth County with Atlanta’s only outdoor movie series that starts before dark. Movies will start at sundown (or earlier) while all other Atlanta series wait 30-60 minutes after sundown. And this isn’t just another outdoor movie series on a soccer field or football field – Movies in the Park ™ is hosted in unique or historical locations. And Vickery Village definitely falls into that category. Surrounded by local restaurants and right next door to The Chill Hill (the local ice cream shop), everything’s in order for great family fun all summer long!

In the middle of Duluth’s Town Green, this kid-friendly fountain spews water two stories in the air. Free.
The fountain is open seven days a week; 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. There are times the fountain is down for maintenance and repairs.

Skate-park: The arrival of Atlanta’s first public skate-park was greeted with great excitement – with real life skateboard legend Tony Hawk breaking it in.
Outdoor Water Parks
The massive water park features acres of water thrills, including the award-winning Tsunami Surge water slide with a 45-foot zero gravity wave wall. Hurricane Harbor is free with park admission. Hurricane Harbor, a massive seven-acre water park at Six Flags Over Georgia, featuring the world’s first zero-gravity slide, wave pool, children’s area and more. The park also boasts eleven heart-pounding roller coasters headlined by the hyper-coaster Goliath, ranked as one of the top coasters in the world and Dare Devil Dive, a beyond-vertical coaster that sends you soaring through three inversions. Cool off on Thunder River, a wild rafting adventure or splash around Skull Island, a towering water play structure with hundreds of water elements. Three interactive children’s areas, Bugs Bunny World, Carousel Hill and Whistlestop Park, provide hours of fun for our smallest guests. Six Flags White Water is a 69-acre water park with rides, including the Wahoo Racer, Tornado, Dive Bomber, Typhoon Twister, and more! Grab a tube at the park and hit the slides! Hang out in the Buccaneer Bay, Captain Kid’s Cove, or Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool. Make sure to bring tons of sunscreen! SUMMERTIME OUTDOOR CONCERTS
Alive After 5 in Roswell takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from through October from 5-9 pm on the streets of Historic Roswell. The free Trolley runs from Magnolia street thru the District and connects to the City Hall parking lot where there are over 400 parking spaces. Each month, 5-6 singer/songwriters will be showcased. Concerts in the Garden returns this summer with a diverse lineup of acts at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, both in Atlanta and in Gainesville. The 15th annual outdoor series features 11 great acts – eight on the Great Lawn at the Atlanta garden and three at the Ivester Amphitheater at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Gainesville.
Gates open at 7 p.m., and shows begin at 8 p.m. Seating is general admission, and ticket holders are welcome to bring blankets or low-rise chairs. Cash bars and food purchases will be available.
Purchase* tickets online or in person at Garden Admissions. Garden Members present membership card at Admissions or enter member number online to receive the discount. Donor level Garden members and above may also call 404-591-1539 for Platinum Tickets. Pre-order meals for each concert are available from Longleaf in Atlanta and Talk of the Town in Gainesville.
Ticket are $18 or $14 for Autrey Mill Members! At the door on Saturday tickets are $20, or $16 for Autrey Mill members. Seats are limited, so please purchase your tickets early. The festivities begin at 7 PM with a pre-show social gathering in the Summerour House, with light refreshments, then walk next door to the Old Warsaw Church for the concert at 8 PM. The church doors open at 7:30.
Brooke Street Park Summer Event Series Alpharetta **NEW*** April – September
The City of Alpharetta’s Recreation and Parks Cultural Services Department is launching a FREE summer event series at Brooke Street Park beginning in April and running through September. Events will consist of a variety of concerts by Home By Dark, and community theatrical performances by local ACT 1 Theatre. Performances will be held at the Brooke Street Park outdoor pavilion and will be free and open to the public. (park behind City Hall) 2 Park Plaza Alpharetta, GA 30009

Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn located in Downtown Lawrenceville 210 Luckie Street 30046. The annual concert series features popular local and regional bands from a wide variety of musical themes in a casual and relaxed outdoor setting.

The party starts at 8pm so come early… bring a picnic dinner or enjoy dinner at one of the incredible restaurants on the Square, then make the short 1-block walk down to the Lawn before the music begins!
Beer and wine will be available for purchase on-site at the concert from McCray’s Tavern. However, no outside alcohol will be allowed.
Free parking throughout the Downtown District. Feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets but please note that no grills or open flames will be allowed in the park. And we love your pets, but please leave them at home.

The Newtown Park Amphitheater provides a delightful venue for the new city-sponsored Summer Concerts. While food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought in, contracted vendors provide a variety of catered food and beverages, including beer and wine. Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the terraced lawn. The concerts are free.
August 31 (Friday) Country Current The City of Johns Creek has added an additional concert to our popular Summer Concert Series at Newtown Park. Join us on Friday, Aug. 31 as the band Country Current hits the stage! The United States Navy Band Country Current is the Navy’s premier country-bluegrass ensemble. The group is nationally renowned for its versatility and “eye-popping” musicianship, performing a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass.

Enjoy the “sweet sounds of summer” in downtown Norcross and get ready for some serious fun at the Summer Concert Series, which runs May thru September in Thrasher Park. Don’t Forget! Each event in the Summer Concert Series will serve as a collection site for the CAN Do food drive, a county-wide effort to fill the shelves of local food pantries. Donations of canned food and non-perishable items can be dropped off in bins during each concert.

A concert series you won’t soon forget, Matilda’s offers an eclectic taste of music for all to hear. Featuring blues, jazz, folk, and rock artists, this concert series will have you grooving along to tunes all night long. Follow the URL to learn more about the artists at each show.
The annual FREE Roswell Riverside Sounds concert series is hosted at Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road in Roswell on the first Saturday of the month through October from 7-9 p.m. There will be food trucks on location for each concert from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM so you can enjoy a great dinner without all the work.
