John Driskell Hopkins of Zac Brown Band Performs at Benefit Concert
Concert on The Green is a new event coming to North Fulton on September 14, 2019 on The Green at Crabapple Market. This event was created to raise funds to directly support the Alpharetta Public Safety and Milton First Responders Foundations. To start with a bang, the event’s inaugural year will feature the incomparable John Driskell Hopkins of the Grammy award-winning Zac Brown Band as the headliner.
The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will officially start at 6 p.m. with performances by local artists and bands such as The Manly Hero, a group of talented young men from the Alpharetta area. At 7:30 p.m. John Driskell Hopkins will take the stage featuring southern rock sounds that will have everyone groovin’ and singing along.
As an Atlanta local, John Driskell Hopkins has been rooted in the local music scene for over 20 years with multiple different creative ventures under his belt. Perhaps his most notable venture is becoming a founding member for the Zac Brown Band, which came to know commercial success after releasing the songs “Chicken Fried” and “Toes” as singles from their first album, The Foundation, in 2008. Since then, the band has gone on to win three Grammy awards, as well as an iHeart radio award, multiple Academy of Country Music awards and many more. John Driskell Hopkins is a powerful presence in the group, contributing his vocals, a talent for multiple instruments (guitar, bass, banjo and more) and songwriting.
Hopkins, fondly called Hop, is excited to perform at Concert on The Green to raise funds to support local police and firefighters. “It is an honor and a privilege to perform for and raise the collective appreciation for our first responders. Their bravery and contribution cannot be measured. Thank you for all you do!”
Concert on The Green will offer two classes of tickets as well as the opportunity to buy event sponsorships. V.I.P. tickets will be $75 +fees and will include brews provided by Currahee Brewing Company of Alpharetta, Buffalo Trace whiskey, Wheatley vodka provided by Sazerac brands, light appetizers from Duke’s Bar & Grill and desserts from Laurel & May Bake Shop (who will also offer 50% off to first responders throughout the evening!). General admission tickets will be $30 +fees. Supporters will also have the option to donate money when purchasing their ticket to provide first responders with a discounted ticket for the event. Food and beverage options will be available for purchase at the concert from restaurants located in Crabapple Market including Olde Blind Dog and Peace Love Pizza, and restaurants will donate 20% of proceeds back to the non-profits.
Attendees may bring chairs for this event. No outside coolers, food or beverages will be allowed inside the event space. The concert will be held rain or shine. To purchase tickets, please visit https://firstrespondersconcert.eventbrite.com.
The Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation and the Milton First Responders Foundation are both non-profit 501c3 organizations dedicated to providing financial support to first responders when they are in need, as well as providing funds for additional equipment and training for police and firefighters. For additional information on event details and sponsorships, please contact Lara Dolan at Lara.firstname.lastname@example.org or (404) 514-6533.
