Movies take place on the 1st Friday of EVERY month from June – August. Movies start at dusk & the screen is located on the fountain. The City of Alpharetta’s Recreation and Parks Cultural Services Department is offering for the second summer, FREE summer event series at Brooke Street Park through September. Events will consist of a variety of concerts by Home By Dark, and community theatrical performances by local ACT 1 Theatre. The City of Alpharetta and Alpharetta Convention & Visitors Bureau are joining forces to build upon the energy in Downtown Alpharetta and enhance the thriving music scene with a new, free summer music series, “Alpharetta’s Music at Twilight”. These intimate performances will be held on select Fridays from 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. through August at Ole Milton Park on the corner of Milton Ave. and N. Main Street.
Mary Jane Potter, owner of the well-known music venue Matilda’s, will produce the new series. Performances range in genre, style and size and will serve as a great addition to any evening out in downtown Alpharetta.

Free parking can be found at the new parking deck located at 92 Milton Avenue or 31 Old Roswell Street parking lot. Additional parking is available at the Alpharetta City Hall park deck located at Park Plaza.
The Mark Burkhalter Park Amphitheater provides a delightful venue for the city-sponsored Summer Concerts. While food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought in, contracted vendors provide a variety of catered food and beverages, including beer and wine. Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the terraced lawn. The concerts are free.

Bring a cooler with whatever you want to eat and drink (wine and beer are allowed). Uber home if needed. Picnics and potlucks are encouraged. Feel free to personalize your table. This is one that 1st timers usually don’t know and is a Matildas tradition…on the day of the concert, you can come by and put your name on a table to reserve it. Otherwise tables and chairs are first come, 1st serve. We recommend bringing your own just in case we run out.

Enjoy the “sweet sounds of summer” in downtown Norcross and get ready for some serious fun at the Summer Concert Series, which runs May thru September in Thrasher Park. The concerts are free and local restaurants are happy to create the perfect picnic for concert goers. So grab a chair, a cooler (no glass, please) and a few friends and come to enjoy downtown Norcross and the sweet sounds of summer!
Don’t Forget! Each event in the Summer Concert Series will serve as a collection site for the CAN Do food drive, a county-wide effort to fill the shelves of local food pantries. Donations of canned food and non-perishable items can be dropped off in bins during each concert.

Jazz in the Alley
Jazz at its best in Betty Mauldin Park from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Local eateries are jazzing things up with some delish chef specials to-go that make it a perfect date night or girls night out. During the band breaks, take an easy stroll and check out the deals in our downtown shops! Bring chairs, a cooler (no glass, please) and come chill.
The annual FREE Roswell Riverside Sounds concert series is hosted at Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road in Roswell on the first Saturday of the month through October from 7-9 p.m. There will be food trucks on location for each concert from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM so you can enjoy a great dinner without all the work.

The nightly Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision has added yet another exciting element this year—a giant fire wheel. Known as a Catherine Wheel, Stone Mountain Park’s is the largest in North America and features fireworks which display bright colors over 50 feet in diameter while causing the wheel to turn even faster.
From July 1 through July 7, the park is lighting up the sky every night during its Fantastic Fourth Celebration following the Lasershow Spectacular with a special patriotic fireworks finale. For a second year in a row, guests can watch the same exact show every night of the celebration.

One of Gwinnett’s largest interactive fountains, Suwanee’s Big Splash features 43 jets and uses up to 1,400 gallons of water per minute. (The water is recycled.) The fountain is generally open 9:30 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. seven days a week, weather permitting, when “in season” (from April 1-October 31). Water quality is checked throughout the day.

Hurricane Harbor Attraction at Six Flags

Six Flags Over Georgia – the Thrill Capital of the South— announced the tallest swinging pendulum ride in the Southeast, Pandemonium. Towering an incredible 15-stories tall—this exhilarating thrill ride reaches speeds up to 70 miles per hour, as it whips back and forth—higher and higher to give riders stunning views of the breathtaking Atlanta city skyline.

The Fox Theatre presents the 2019 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival with a screening of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” for the film’s 30th Anniversary. This family favorite will return to the venue with a sing-along component for all to participate in!
After opening night, the festival will include early and evening shows including “Saturday Morning Cartoons,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Mary Poppins” sing-along, “The Princess Bride” and the 80th Anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz.” Discounted tickets for these films will go on sale Friday, June 7 at noon for $8 until June 30. General admission tickets will go up to $10 after June 30. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets at the door for $12.

As in previous years, Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival will showcase films on its impressive 26-by-56-foot screen.
