Summer 2019 is upon us which brings weekends full of live music in many of the quaint downtown cities around Atlanta. Grab a blanket and pack a picnic or visit food trucks while you take your significant other or family/friends to listen to amazing outdoor concerts! Most concerts listed below are free to attend.
SUMMERTIME OUTDOOR CONCERTS
Alive After 5 in Roswell takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from through October from 5-9 pm on the streets of Historic Roswell. FREE Concerts!
The free Trolley runs from Magnolia street thru the District and connects to the City Hall parking lot where there are over 400 parking spaces. Each month, 5-6 singer/songwriters will be showcased. After each artist plays, they will head over to The Roswell Tap for more music. Alive After Five Facebook.

May 24 The Mike Veal Band
The Mike Veal Band plays a great combination of blues, rock, funk, and fun! Their diverse musical backgrounds and regional influences contribute to the awesome sound for which the band is known and loved. May 31 The Classics
The Classics are a seven-piece, high energy, and versatile show band based out of Atlanta, Georgia. They perform popular hits from the fifties and sixties along with dance floor favorites from the seventies, eighties, nineties, and today. This wide range of musical styles and genres enables them to adapt to varied audiences and guarantees a fun and exciting entertainment experience for everyone in attendance.
Brooke Street Park Summer Event Series Alpharetta
The City of Alpharetta’s Recreation and Parks Cultural Services Department is offering for the second summer, FREE summer event series at Brooke Street Park through September. Events will consist of a variety of concerts by Home By Dark, and community theatrical performances by local ACT 1 Theatre. Performances will be held at the Brooke Street Park outdoor pavilion and will be free and open to the public. (park behind City Hall) 2 Park Plaza Alpharetta, GA 30009

The 2nd Annual Brooke Street Park Summer Concert Series will offer 11 free family-friendly concerts this season. Music fans are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic on the lawn at Alpharetta’s Brooke Street Park located directly behind Alpharetta City Hall. This year’s concert series kicks off on Saturday, May 18 with the Alpharetta Symphony and continues on select Saturdays through September with additional performers and events such as the Alpharetta City Band and Alpharetta PopFest. Multiple dates during this year’s series are being presented by popular event producer HOME BY DARK who has a solid track record of captivating audiences by showcasing amazing songwriters and musicians.

The Mark Burkhalter Park Amphitheater provides a delightful venue for the city-sponsored Summer Concerts. While food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought in, contracted vendors provide a variety of catered food and beverages, including beer and wine. Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome on the terraced lawn. The concerts are free.

Friday, May 31 – Uptown Funk (Bruno Mars Tribute Band) If you’re a fan of Bruno Mars, you’ll want to attend the Uptown Funk concert on Friday, May 31 at Newtown Park!
The Bruno Mars tribute band will entertain the crowd with popular hits like “24K Magic” “Treasure,” and “Uptown Funk.”
The concert, held at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater, will feature food trucks Meatballerz, Cattywampus Grill, and King of Pops for sweet treats.
For those looking for a little more room, you can reserve round tables for up to ten people, under the amphitheater by calling 678-512-3200.
Concerts are free to attend. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Please remember: no pets allowed except service animals.

Concerts are rain or shine! In the case of rain, attendees are welcome to bring umbrellas. No pop-up tents, please. If we experience lightning or severe weather, we may delay the start of the concert or evacuate if necessary.

Monthly Concert Series on 2nd Sundays: Bring your own picnic and dine during the show at a table (decorated by you). For lawn seating, bring your own low lawn chair or blanket. Each show starts at 7:30 pm and you can arrive at 6:00 pm to enjoy the nature center and gardens prior to the concert. *Adult beverages are available for purchase at each event, but remember, BYOB is prohibited. HOME BY DARK is a “listening room” event. Guests are expected to refrain from conversation during the performance. Events are rain or shine. All tables are located under the pavilion unless otherwise noted. Gates open 90 minutes before scheduled start time. General Admission seating is located outside of the pavilion. No seating is provided for G.A. tickets; please bring chairs, blankets, etc. just no large tables. Personal/TV Tray size ONLY. All sales are final. Dates listed below are at Chukkar Farms. Gate opens at 7:30 pm Concerts 8:30-10:30 pm. Parking is on site and very convenient. Enter the venue on Hickory Flat Road at 7 Acres Restaurant. There will be people directing you where to park. Please don’t park in the 7 Acres parking lot if you are coming to a concert.
Bring a cooler with whatever you want to eat and drink (wine and beer are allowed). Uber home if needed.. Picnics and potlucks are encouraged.. Feel free to personalize your table… This is one that 1st timers usually don’t know and is a Matildas tradition…on the day of the concert, you can come by and put your name on a table to reserve it.. Otherwise tables and chairs are first come, 1st serve.. We recommend bringing your own just in case we run out…
In consideration of the concert goers who came to listen to music, we ask that if you want to talk or visit that you do so before the concert starts, in between songs, or step far enough outside the concert area that your conversation does not cause a distraction from the performance.
Season pass and gift ticket holders email to be added to the list for each concert you plan to attend… We are under a strict capacity limit and it will be helpful in making sure that we can have an accurate head count. In the event of a cancelation due to weather, the concert will be rescheduled or your ticket can be used for a future concert.

Enjoy the “sweet sounds of summer” in downtown Norcross and get ready for some serious fun at the Summer Concert Series, which runs May thru September in Thrasher Park. The concerts are free and local restaurants are happy to create the perfect picnic for concert goers. So grab a chair, a cooler (no glass, please) and a few friends and come to enjoy downtown Norcross and the sweet sounds of summer!
Don’t Forget! Each event in the Summer Concert Series will serve as a collection site for the CAN Do food drive, a county-wide effort to fill the shelves of local food pantries. Donations of canned food and non-perishable items can be dropped off in bins during each concert.

Jazz at its best in Betty Mauldin Park from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Local eateries are jazzing things up with some delish chef specials to-go that make it a perfect date night or girls night out. During the band breaks, take an easy stroll and check out the deals in our downtown shops! Bring chairs, a cooler (no glass, please) and come chill.
The annual FREE Roswell Riverside Sounds concert series is hosted at Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road in Roswell on the first Saturday of the month through October from 7-9 p.m. There will be food trucks on location for each concert from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM so you can enjoy a great dinner without all the work.
