Our family had the incredible opportunity to try CarsonKitchen Restaurant in Downtown Alpharetta over the holidays and it was a special treat! The restaurant is very Covid friendly – we were separated by 6 feet from another table. The food is served Tapas style for sharing which makes it so much easier to decide what to order because you know you will have a chance to try a little of what others at your table order as well! I can now understand why the chef is applauded for his “re-imagined comfort food” as the dishes are uniquely creative and burst with flavor.
The wait staff was professional, friendly and attentive. Chelsea, the Restaurant Manager recommended the Chicken Thighs as a newer, popular dish and it was amazing! Other delicious dishes we tried were Crispy Chicken Skins, Veal Meatballs, Potatoes & Leeks, Butter Burger, Killer Shrimp and the Cocoa-Espresso NY Strip and last but not least the Glazed Donut Bread Pudding.
We all loved the fried chicken skins especially James who is super picky. Imagine fresh chicken skin that is fried with a smoked honey dipping sauce! James was sold. We devoured every dish enjoying all the different tastes. The chef has a mastered skill of combining flavors and making them taste unique and delicious without being too spicy. When our younger son tried the chicken thigh leftovers he said, “I dont know how they got all these flavors to work together but the food is really good!” There was not a morsel left. Even if you go in for dessert and coffee, you have to try the Glazed Donut Bread Pudding. This warm, melt in your mouth deliciousness can’t be forgotten!
I apologize for the lack of quality in the images I took that night with my phone.
The team at Carson Kitchen has exciting new additions to its already creative, re-imagined comfort food menu. Highlights include:
- Vegan Tacos with jackfruit carnitas and cilantro lime cream
- Secret Sunday Chicken with spicy pickle aioli
- Beer Brat Banh Mi with sambal aioli, chicken pate
- Venison Salisbury steak-style with brandied mushroom cream
AlpharettaMoms.Org was offered to dine at CarsonKitchen in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own. Please know we truly enjoyed our meal, the service and can’t wait to go back.
