Hillcrest Orchards offers apple picking, pig races, petting zoo, and more for a perfect fall day family outing in the North Georgia Mountain just a short drive from Atlanta. Hillcrest Orchards is open 3 months of the year and offers numerous forms of entertainment such as: apple pickin’, wagon rides, pig races, milking “Buttercup” the cow, enormous jumping pillow, pedal cars, live entertainment, Moonshine museum, cow train, a petting farm, pony rides and a corny kids maze! Plus, visit the Apple Adventure Children’s Museum, Meet Johnny Appleseed, see trees through four seasons of the year, walk through a room of apple mirrors and meet Betty Crocker in the apple kitchen then exit through a vortex tunnel!! Visit their air-conditioned dining room for a break from the warm weather. Hillcrest Orchards is located on Hwy 52 in Ellijay along Apple Orchard Alley, this Orchard/Farm is a must do for FALL FAMILY FUN!
U-pick is only available on Festival Weekends September 9 – October 29. In addition to pig races they also have SWIMMING PIG RACES! Hillcrest offers the first and only Apple Tree Maze in the Southeast! Make your way down the apple alleys as you learn how apples grow. They planted trees and trained them espalier fashion to create walls of trees. Play unique games and make lots of pics at the numerous selfie stations throughout the maze!!!
Admission is $12 per person on Saturday and Sunday and includes the petting farm. Non weekend admission is $8 and includes petting farm, wagon rides, playground, jumping pillow, trike rides, and all the playgrounds. Check their website HERE for hours of operation. Pack your own lunch or purchase hamburgers, hot dogs and snacks from the food vendors. Hillcrest Orchards is open through November with the Apple Pickin’ Jubilee on weekends through October 29th. U-picks on weekends and the petting farm, wagon rides and playgrounds will be open daily.
School field trips, Senior Tours and the Petting Farm are available as well. Visit the bakery and farm market before you leave. There are bushels and bushels of fresh tree ripened apples. Fresh squeezed 100% pure apple cider (flash pasteurized). Try their cider slush, it is delicious! Hundreds of canned goods from apple butter to hot chow chow! Find mountain honey right next to the observation bee hive.
The fall isn’t the same unless you get to pick your own apples, milk Buttercup and watch the famous pig races! Make a day of it and head to Burt’s Farm for your pumpkin afterward. Visiting Hillcrest Orchards has always been a highlight of the fall season for our family.
