Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 9, 2021! This special Mom’s Day is sure to be much more fun than last year in quarantine! Let’s celebrate!
Alpharetta always has fun things to do to make a day or weekend special! Mother’s Day Weekend is no exception – plan a mom-cation, dine or take out in one of the many restaurants, have a spa day and more!
May 9th is right around the corner—so consider this your sign to start planning for Mother’s Day weekend! For the women in our lives who deserve it all, making a memorable Mother’s Day has never been easier and what better way to celebrate than a “mom-cation” road trip to Alpharetta? From spa treatments to outdoor adventures, we have rounded up a robust and exciting itinerary to enjoy with your most cherished loved ones—the mamas in your life!
Pamper and Indulge Her
Finding time to relax can be difficult for moms between working, carpooling, scouts’ meetings, helping with homework, cooking and the weekly laundry. Give her time to slow down and revel in relaxation by booking her a treatment at any of Alpharetta’s stellar spas. Book a hydrafacial at The Woodhouse Day Spa or a massage at Natural Body Spa & Shop to refresh and refill her energy tank. Take the spa experience a step further by booking a package for the ultimate pampering experience. Prepare her for a day of fun by taking her to Drybar for a blowout. By the time her hair is styled to perfection, she will feel like a whole new woman—ready for a weekend of fun!
Help find her signature scent at Indiehouse Modern Fragrance Bar, where she’ll learn how scent blending works and make a custom perfume as unforgettable as she is! Book a VIP Party with Fab’rik where up to 20 of Mom’s friends and family members can shop the store and get 20% off their finds. Continue the shopping at Sundance for artisan hand-made jewelry and unique home decor.
Bunches of Brunches
While we are in 2021 and traditional household roles can be different from house to house, we have a theory that mommas are usually the primary chef in the kitchen. Give her a chance to take off her apron and treat her to a delectable brunch. Try Oak Steakhouse for $5 mimosas paired with delectable menu choices like the Eggs Benedict. Put a coastal twist on your brunch with Jekyll Brewing City Center’s Low Country Benedict or go a little sweeter with the French Quarter Malted Waffle.
Is cooking her passion? Register ahead of time for the Mother’s Day Brunch on May 9 at Publix Aprons Cooking School where she can learn tips and tricks to making an amazing brunch. With a menu featuring Warm Potato-Leek Soup, Poached Egg & Chive Pesto, Poppyseed-Blueberry Scones with Lemon Glaze, Herb-Rubbed Grilled Turkey Cutlets with Citrus Hollandaise and more, she will be in for quite the fabulous foodie treat.
Activities for the Queens of Culture
Alpharetta has an abundance of activities packed with music, arts, history and nature so so putting together a fun outing is easy. Take your dancing queen to see MAMMA MIA! at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre. This classic musical takes music from the fabulous ABBA and pairs it with a delightful story that will keep you laughing and crying in turns. There are four shows to choose from May 7-9.
How about a concert under the stars? Set your outdoor table with a picnic dinner and enjoy Farewell Angelina at Matilda’s Music Under The Pines on Saturday, May 8 at 8 pm. Named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, Farewell Angelina is an all-female country group with four powerhouse vocalists, dynamic songwriters and accomplished multi-instrumentalists.
Is she a history buff or curious about the history of the area? Learn about local history while getting in exercise on the History Walk or by visiting the Alpharetta and Old Milton County History Museum. Does she have an eye for art? Check out the Art In Your Back Yard: Folk Art and Whimsy exhibit at the Alpharetta Arts Center. She’ll find artful inspiration with backyard creations ranging from photography to garden décor to sculpture and more.
Still looking for more to do? Don’t let Mom miss the Alpharetta Farmers Market on the morning of Saturday, May 8. Packed with vendors selling local honey, fresh vegetables, baked goods, hand-made art and more, the Farmer’s Market is one of the best events during Alpharetta’s warm months. Continue to enjoy lovely weather by hopping on the Alpha Loop Connection trail or on the Big Creek Greenway for a total of over 9 miles of walkways to explore.
With so much to do, why not spoil Mom with the ultimate weekend by adding a stay at any of Alpharetta’s 29 modern hotels? Book your stay and relax in style after a day packed with fun. Make sure to share your memorable Mother’s Day weekend with us by using our hashtag, #AwesomeAlpharetta.
